FAQ: Are Group RRSP/DC Pension deductions considered as Pension Contributions?
Yes, if you have a DC pension, include this amount in your payroll deductions. The platform will update this number each year based on the percentages entered in the Tax & Benefit Section.
Group RRSP vs Personal RRSP:
If it’s a Group-RRSP contribution then yes, put the employee contribution in Pension Contributions in Discovery > Income, but also make sure Discovery > Tax & Benefits has the GRRSP employee and employer contribution %s so that the platform can calculate these going forward.
But if it’s just a personal RRSP contribution that happens to be deducted directly then you should increase your net income by the size of the RRSP contribution and then capture it in Discovery > Expenses > Savings & Debt Payments.
